Sharon L. Horton, M.D.

Advanced Dermatology & Mohs Surgery

Dr. Horton earned her medical degree from the Chicago Medical School. She completed an internal medicine residency at Rush Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center and a dermatology residency at Wayne State University, where she was the Chief Resident. She received additional training through a one-year fellowship in Mohs surgery at the Stough Clinic in Arkansas. Her special interests include skin cancer surgery, Mohs micrographic surgery, and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Horton is a professional member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Mohs Surgery, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgeons, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, the American Society of Dermatopathology and the American College of Physicians. In addition, she is certified with both the American Board of Dermatology and the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Horton holds a subspecialty certification in Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery (MDS) from the American Board of Dermatology. She has published numerous publications and has presented several lectures on a variety of topics related to her field of study.


Purvi Patel PAC

Purvi Patel is a Board-Certified Physician Assistant who has experience diagnosing and treating dermatology patients of all ages. Purvi has trained with Dr. Horton since 2003. She has gained clinical expertise with acne, warts, rosacea, dermatoses, psoriasis, and detecting skin cancer.

Purvi received her Physician Assistant degree from Mid Western University and has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana.

Alicja Kitrys, PAC, is a Board-Certified Physician Assistant with experience diagnosing and treating dermatology patients of all ages. Alicja has clinical expertise with acne, warts, rosacea, dermatoses, psoriasis, and detecting skin cancer.

Alicja received her Physician Assistant degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and has a Bachelor of Arts in Biology, Cum Laude, from Miami University.

Alicja is bilingual in English and Polish.
